MY PROJECTS
Blossoms
Continuing my practice from the end of third year, I continued producing clay blossom ceramics with the idea to fill an exhibition space with the the same number of blossoms the tree produced (or with the number of days the tree doesn't blossom.)
Thinking of ways i could exhibit this installation, sketching ideas.
Mapping my Steps
Performance and film study of myself mapping my steps on my daily walks at home in the countryside. Three main locations were the prime focus of this study and i saw these maps as abstract drawings.

Re-creating my maps of my daily walks in the studio
Performance and film piece of myself recreating the maps from my daily walks from home, from memory using bold primary colours overlapping eachother on the wall.
Ceramics (pots and vases )
Experimenting with clay, I began thinking looking at ceramics and the traditional use of pots and urns. My practice was interested in memory and urns holds the memory of a person. EXPAND ON THIS... I experimented with clay and producing different pots and vases and began thinking of how i would exhibit them in an installation space containing childhood memories of me and my damily growing up by the blossom tree.

Do you believe that Nature plays a significant role in memories?
Interim
In preparation for when I am able to exhibit my work physically, I have designed an installation space using sound, film and paintings which will create a surrounded experience of light and nature. Combined, these illustrate a myriad of perspectives of the significance that nature plays in our memories. Devising a confronting and intimate space at the end of the gallery allows the viewer to be controlled by the different senses of human interaction with nature. Most importantly, through this installation, I aim to express the importance of nature in our lives; especially during the current situation.
I aim to continue to experiment with this piece of work, adding in different sounds I encounter on my daily walks, along with the voicenotes collected by friends and family, sharing their experience with nature and how it factors in with our memories.

EXPERIMENTING WITH MIRRORS, LIGHT AND SPACE !!! document this
my housemate painted a small tree on a plain canvas hung up on my bedroom wall and in the morning I noticed a shadow mirroring the small drawing beside the canvas on the wall????
Large scale painting series, the intention was to make canvases my height so my whole body can perform the sounds I hear of different landscapes i've recorded.
I filmed this process, not to be used as a film piece but as documentation and experimentation of my practice and the paintings i produce
working portrait for my landscape paintings instead of the traditional way of painting with the canvas horizontal, adds to the idea of the body as a performer, exaggerating the brush strokes through listening rather than looking.
detail of a painting (untitled atm) the intention to present these works with the intention for the sunlight to come through a window onto the painting adding this sense of movement, life and depth to my works. My paintings aren't the primary focus of my works but light is.
significance of the number 3 in my work
When reviewing my practice i notices the number 3 was significant in many aspects of my practice. Whether it was locations i focused on when inspired in my work or when exhibiting work, i liked to do it as a series of 3. Some reasons as to why this is, is i am a triplet, one of 3 and being inspired by memories, my childhood and upbringing by the blossom tree, i see that being one of 3 all my life has become important in my work and inspiration of many of my works. it also represents a window, adding to this illusion of shadow and light onto a painting.

Surroundings and Sensations Recalled.
I've worked mainly in installation, incorporating sound, film, and painting to create a surrounding experience that aims to portray the sensations experienced when encountering different landscapes that have played a significant role in my memories.
My work explores the way in which sound, light and space affect the process and handling of paint in my abstract paintings. I aim to invite people in to listen to sounds collected from the various environments that are used to create my large-scale landscape paintings. Allowing light to interact on the surface of my work adds depth to my paintings and acts as a performance, making light and sound the primary focus.
